Yes, summers in Berlin are great. But who wouldn’t want to just quickly beam themselves to Italy for a balmy evening filled with pasta, wine and the sweet sound of Italian every now and then? Luckily, right at Helmholtzplatz in Prenzlauer Berg we found the best of both worlds: Trattoria Felice. Classic Italian in the best way possible. During the summer you can spot the red and white checked tablecloths from afar. Once you get hold of one of these popular tables (make sure to reserve beforehand), you feel like you have been taken on a trip way down south. Inside, black and white images of the 1950s and 60s Cinema Italia line the walls and delicious rustic fare fills the cosy tables. Our personal favorite: the truffle pasta. The linguine is prepared right at your table inside a parmesan wheel. Yes, you read that correctly! The parmesan wheel is flambéed so the melted cheese can develop its full Parmesan-y aroma. Then, the linguine is added and both combine in a love marriage of delicousness. To top it off, grated truffles are added and BAM: La Dolce Vita on a plate.

For those who are not into truffles or cheese (why?), there are of course other options as well. We also ordered one of their stone oven pizzas as well as the – not so traditional but nonetheless scrumptious – Linguine alla Prenzlauer Berg, which come with porcini mushrooms and spinach in a tomato cream sauce.
